Peter Wingfield portrays Harris Crowe, the spin doctor of the villain Kane (Jon Voight). I put a tag of Bad Guy for this role, but precisely, it should be Funny Guy. 🙂 His acting is so funny, and his hairstyle is one of the funniest ones he’s ever had, perhaps. 🙂 As always, his face expressions are amazing and fun to watch.

This movie was released in 2004 but was filmed in 2001. In 2001, Peter also appeared in the family movie Halloweentown II, and played a “good daddy” in some films and TVs around 2000 – Peter might think that these would be good to watch with his son, Edan, I wonder.

Baby Geniuses（邦題：ベイビー・トーキング）の続編、日本未公開。赤ちゃんが喋るという設定は「ベイビー・トーク」の二番煎じ。悪玉役ジョン・ヴォイトがＴＶを使って子供たちを洗脳！みたいな世界支配を企てる、という…IMDBで1.9という驚異的な低スコアをたたき出し、ラズベリー賞などにもエントリーした、ある意味すごい映画です。

ピーター演じるハリス・クロウは悪玉ビル・ビスケインのメディア担当アドバイザー。腹心的存在なので、割とたくさん出てきます。アメリカの映画ポスターにもちゃんとPeter Wingfieldとクレジットされたそうです！コメディタッチの作品だから、常にビスケインのコートを気にしたり、慌ててちょこちょこ、お尻さすりながら走ったり…としぐさも大袈裟で笑える。髪型がとっても不思議、中途半端に横分けパッツンでこれまた笑えます。

この映画、アメリカのファンも「そのまんまビデオ化」コースだと思っていたようですが、公開にこぎ着けたのは御大ジョン・ヴォイトが出ているおかげかも知れません。2004年8月27日全米公開ですが、撮影は2001年だったそうです。当時まだ赤ちゃんだった息子イーダンと一緒に見ても大丈夫な映画、ということで仕事を受けたのかなぁ。Halloweentown IIも子供向け。

Biscane tries to get the super power but he turns to be a baby… Crowe holds him up and promises to take care of him. 🙂 Peter Wingfield is brilliant, but the movie itself is… hmm.

御大ジョン・ヴォイトも真剣に頑張ってらっしゃる。お孫さんに見せたかったのかなぁ、なんて思ってしまいます。ピーターも表情豊かで頑張っているけれど、映画自体はね…。
